This Saturday at Gracie Barra Westheimer: Capoeira

This week the Capoeira classes continues at the Gracie Barra Westchase - Houston 

If you are a woman, man, if you have kids or nephews, or grandchildren and you´re in the Houston area, bring them to my class! The trial class is for free and I assure you we´ll have so much fun!

Capoeira is a brazilian fight first created by slaves that had to leave Africa against their will to be mistreated and do inhuman hard work. Capoeira was created as a way to fight back the slave owners so the slaves could scape and lived a free life.

More than 500 years has passed and with that Capoeira has evolved.

Capoeira Humaitá Celeiro de Bambas is a Contemporary Capoeira School, we teach Capoeira Regional, Angola and the dances that are tight to Capoeira evolution such as Maculelê, Samba de Roda, Cocô de Roda, Puxada de Rede do Xareú, Frevo, Ciranda de Roda, among others.

Our school founded by Mestre Chocolate in Caracas, Venezuela will drive you through and amazing journey of Brazilian Culture having as flagship the Capoeira.

There are no limitations for anybody that wants to be part of Capoeira Humaitá, women, men, children, elder people, deficient people can practice, everything you have to do is show up to the classes every week and the rest will come along.

I´ve been practicing Capoeira with Mestre Chocolate for non-stop 7 years now, being a part of social projects in underpriviliged communities, teaching kids from 3 years old and in every class both learning and teaching to kids and their parents, bringing them closer and also working on their abilities. I´ve been a Graduada student (graduated student) for more than 2 years now, and I know how Capoeira makes you a better person, a better human being, you get leaner, stronger and learn brazilian culture and portuguese!!!
